The School of Marxism at Guangxi University has launched a degree program in philosophy since 1978. With a profound history in academic scholarship and a fine tradition in teaching and research, it has cultivated a large workforce of high-quality talent for the country. According to incomplete statistics, there is 1 sub-national leader, 3 government officials of provincial-ministerial level, more than 20 of bureau-director level, and 30 college professors among the alumni. The school features a key discipline in Guangxi in 2013, namely the first-level discipline in philosophy and in 2015 its undergraduate program in philosophy was rated as an advantageous and featured program in Guangxi. In 2019, it was selected as a first-class undergraduate major construction site. Moreover, with a first-level master's degree program in philosophy, the school has gone into the lead as to the rate of students continuing learning in graduate school.
Cultivation Objectives
Under the guidance of Marxism, the school aims to cultivate high-caliber talents with philosophical literacy, correct political direction, solid foundation of professional knowledge, strong theoretical thinking ability and considerable expertise. It highlights the development of students’ sound mind, humanistic literacy, and communicative competence, so as to better prepare students for managerial positions in government departments, or enterprise of every variety. Its primary goal is to nurture interdisciplinary talents who are socially responsible and highly creative.

Cultivation Mode
1. To cultivate students with profound knowledge and innovative thinking by providing well-developed academic programs and professional training.
